The old Red Cross Hall at Greenslopes has been sitting empty, falling into disrepair. The presence of asbestos of the site is obvious to everyone. The Morrison government needs to fix up the site urgently to prevent any further risk from the asbestos and any other contaminants. If they won’t do it, they need to find someone who will.
The South-East Advertiser has been writing about this. The Morrison government must take our community’s concerns into account.
We, the undersigned, are concerned about the state of the Commonwealth-owned hall on Newdegate Street, Greenslopes (formerly the Australian Red Cross Hall). The building has seemingly fallen into a state of disrepair. We are particularly concerned about the presence of asbestos at the site. We urge the government to either remediate the site, or transfer it to someone who will, as soon as possible.
