I would like to invite you to my Medicare Morning Tea with Shadow Assistant Minister for Health, Stephen Jones MP, to discuss the impact of changes to Medicare and pensions.
When: 10:00am, Friday 13 June
Where: Greenslopes Bowls Club, 131 Ridge Street, Greenslopes
Prime Minister Tony Abbott’s changes to the pension will affect more than 600,000 Queensland pensioners and almost 50,000 Queensland Commonwealth Seniors Health Card holders.
From 1 July 2015, the new GP tax means you’ll pay $7 to visit a bulk billing doctor, pathology or imaging service.
Even if you don’t use bulk-billing, the Medicare changes will cost you – the Medicare refund you get will be less, and doctors’ added administrative burden will also push costs up.
This morning tea will be a great opportunity to discuss these changes and what they mean for you.
Please RSVP to my Electorate Office by Thursday 12th June 2014 on (07) 3899 4031 or via email - Terri.Butler.MP@aph.gov.au.
