Over her 45 years in the Griffith electorate, Tokiko has achieved a lot for the environment, both here and on Fraser Island.
Her disdain for weeds and concern for the environment motivated Tokiko to voluntarily rehabilitate important ecosystems.
She played a pivotal role in restoring the natural integrity of one of the busiest hubs on Fraser Island, a World Heritage site.
Locally, Tokiko turned her efforts to the weed invasion along Bridgewater Creek, removing thick stalls of weeds and planting natives from her nursery.
Without Tokiko, large parts of our favourite recreational areas would be over-run with invasive species.
