Last night's Federal Budget
12 May 2021
Well, the Liberal National government’s eighth Budget has now been handed down, and I’m sorry to say it is yet another marketing exercise.
After eight long years of this government our community deserves more than a shameless political fix. We deserve the genuine reform needed to make Australia’s economy stronger, broader, and more sustainable.
It's Budget night.
Tonight, I'll be in the parliament listening closely as the Treasurer gives his Budget speech. But it's not announcements that matter — it's delivery.
Over the course of eight years of federal Budgets, the Liberal National government has shown a tendency to over-promise and under-deliver. So Labor will be pressing the government to make good on their promises to Australians.
